Deep brain stimulation, epilepsy surgery, brain tumours and complex reconstructive spinal surgery. He is well experienced in minimal invasive approach to spinal surgery.

Kristian Bulluss graduated his medical degree from the University of Melbourne in 1999, and undertook his internship and basic surgical training at the Austin Hospital. He then completed specialist training in neurosurgery in 2005 working at St George’s Hospital Sydney, the Austin Hospital, the Royal Children’s Hospital and St Vincent’s Private Hospital Melbourne. During this time, Kristian completed his PhD at the University of Melbourne and obtained his fellowship from the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2012.

In 2012/13 Kristian began a functional neurosurgical fellowship at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford, United Kingdom. Under Professor Tipu Aziz’s guidance, Kristian gained surgical expertise in the treatment of movement disorders (including Parkinson’s Disease, dystonia and essential tremor), pain and epilepsy.

Kristian works as a consultant neurosurgeon at St Vincent’s Private Hospital, St Vincent’s Public Hospital and the Austin Health.

Kristian is actively involved in teaching medical students and neurosurgical residents/registrars. Kristian has published in national and international journals and is involved in a number of research projects in deep brain stimulation, peripheral nerve repair and minimal invasive spinal surgery.
